Dolby B NR Soft Touch Metal Tape

This Braun C 301 M is a stereo cassette deck with Dolby B noise reduction, it was first sold by Braun in 1979.

The main features of the Braun C 301 M cassette deck are: 2 heads, mechanical 3 digit tape counter and memory stop, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome, ferro-chrome and metal tapes.

Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed directly over the head block. Additionally the heads can be easilly accessed for cleaning.

Level meters used on the Braun C 301 M cassette deck are generic digital peak reading meters with multi-color indication to provide visual saturation level of tape. Soft-touch controls for fast and easy transport function selection of the Braun C 301 M cassette deck.

The Dolby-B system reduces tape hiss on tapes recorded on the Braun C 301 M by as much as 10 dB at the highest frequencies.

To make live recordings this deck has 2 microphone inputs to connect a microphone with a DIN connector. For undisturbed listening a DIN connector for a pair of stereo headphones is supplied.
