This Nakamichi 1000 is a stereo dat recorder, it was first sold by Nakamichi in 1988 and discontinued 7 years later in 1995.

The main 1000 features are.

Typical front loading dat recorder with the cassette compartiment located on the left side of the deck. Tape loading/unloading is operated motorized and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well.

Full-logic transport controls used on the Nakamichi 1000 let it respond to the slightest finger contact for fast and effortless transport function selection.

All main transport commands can be issued remotely with a wireless remote control.
