Pioneer CT-860
DBX Soft Touch

This Pioneer CT-860 is a cassette deck with DBX noise reduction, it was first sold by Pioneer in 1984 and discontinued a year later.

The CT-860 is equipped with, tape type selection and capable of handling normal tapes.

Level meters used on the Pioneer CT-860 cassette deck are digital LED peak reading meters. Soft-touch controls for fast and easy transport function selection of the Pioneer CT-860 cassette deck.

Dbx Type II found in the CT-860 is a simplified version of the Type I noise reduction system. The dbx Type II system was designed to be used with systems with limited bandwidth such as cassette based recorders and also uses a simple 2:1:2 compander to reduce noise.
