Dolby B NR 3 Head

This Realistic SCT-30 is a stereo cassette deck with Dolby B noise reduction, it was first sold by Realistic in 1978 with a list price of USD $380 and discontinued 4 years later in 1982.

The main features of the Realistic SCT-30 cassette deck are: 3 heads and no off-tape monitoring to save production cost, tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and ferro-chrome tapes.

Typical front loading cassette deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well.

The Dolby-B system reduces tape hiss on tapes recorded on the Realistic SCT-30 by as much as 10 dB at the highest frequencies.
