Dolby B NR Soft Touch Metal Tape

This Technics RS-M222 is a stereo double cassette deck with Dolby B noise reduction, it was first sold by Technics in 1982 with a list price of USD $300 and discontinued a year later.

The main features of the Technics RS-M222 double cassette deck are: 2 heads, mechanical 3 digit tape counter, automatic tape type selection and capable of handling normal, chrome and metal tapes, belt driven auto reverse transport.

Typical front loading double cassette deck with the cassette compartiment located on both sides of the deck. Tape eject is operated mechanically and the cassette needs to be placed with the side to be played facing forward in the cassette well.

Level meters used on the Technics RS-M222 double cassette deck are generic digital peak reading meters. Soft-touch controls for fast and easy transport function selection of the Technics RS-M222 double cassette deck. Cue and review can be used to easily and quickly locate the beginning of a passage.

The Dolby-B system reduces tape hiss on tapes recorded on the Technics RS-M222 by as much as 10 dB at the highest frequencies.

For undisturbed listening a jack connector for a pair of stereo headphones is supplied.
